MUMBAI: 2.0 starrer Rajnikant and Akshay Kumar continues to enjoy a humongous extended weekend at the theatres, surpassing the lifetime collections of total of Prabhas strarrer Baahubali: The Beginning (Hindi).
On Wednesday, Taran Adarsh, film critic and trade analyst, tweeted the latest business figures of 2.0 on his account . He said the movie had set Bollywood on fire given its double digit trending on a weekday. On day 6 of its release, the Shankar directorial’s gross earnings for the Hindi version of 2.0 went past Rs 120 crore. Baahubali: The Beginning which released in 2015 had made Rs 117 crore at the box office. At that time it had become the highest grossing Hindi dubbed South Indian film.
The record, was, however, broken by its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2: The Conclusion grossed Rs 511 crore as its lifetime earnings. The most expensive films to be ever made in India, 2.0 is made with a budget of over Rs 500 crore.
