NEW DELHI: Putting in place his team for steering the BJP’s campaign in the Lok Sabha polls, BJP appoints in-charges for 17 states and Chandigarh for 2019 Lok Sabha elections to oversee preparations for the next parliamentary elections due in April-May next year.
Highlighting the party’s importance to Uttar Pradesh, which sends 80 lawmakers to the Lok Sabha,Gujarat leader Govardhan Jhadapia, party vice-president Dushyant Gautam and Narottam Mishra will be in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Rajya Sabha member V Muraleedharan and party secretary Deodhar Rao will be in-charge of Andhra Pradesh.
BJP general secretaries Bhupender Yadav and Anil Jain were assigned Bihar and Chhattisgarh. UP minister Mahendra Singh and Swatantradev Singh are in charge of Assam and Madhya Pradesh respectively while
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and senior leader Sudhanshu Trivedi will oversee the BJP’s poll preparations in Rajasthan.
