MUMBAI: A delegation of Bollywood comprising of producers met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the fraternity. The delegation which was representing the Indian film and entertainment industry gave an overview of the vast growth potential of the media and entertainment industry.
This was the second meeting of the film-makers with the prime minister since October 24 this year. The delegation, however, received major flak online for its complete absence of women in delegation.
he delegation, which met the prime minister to discuss issues of the film industry, included producers Karan Johar, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Ritesh Sidhwani, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwwala, Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and actors Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. Sources said the issues faced by those associated with the film industry and working in field were also discussed with the PM.
