NEW DELHI: The upcoming 2019 general elections will be fought under the leadership of Amit Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party decided in its national executive meeting on Saturday at the national executive meeting in Delhi.
AMIT Shah’s tenure was set to end in January, but the BJP in its national executive meeting decided that the party should continue until the end of 2019 Lok Sabha election which are going to be held next year. The party will also formulate its strategy for the state assembly polls and the Lok Sabha elections.
The crucial meeting comes two days after several organisations of upper castes staged Bharat Bandh in protest of the restoration of key provisions in SC/ST Act.
The two-day meeting is being attended by its key leaders from all states and Union territories besides its national leadership.
BJP Chief Amit Shah, who presided over the meeting, said that the opposition is trying to spread misinformation on SC/ST Act.
