MUMBAI: Union minister and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari on Sunday hinted that leaders in the BJP should own up to and claimed opposition and a section of media — to create a misunderstanding between him and the party’s leadership.
The BJP stalwart on Saturday had said nobody is willing to own up to failure unlike success and maintained “leadership should have the ‘vrutti’ (tendency) to own up defeat and failures”. While speaking at an even organised by Pune District Urban Cooperative Banks Association Limited, Gadkari had said on Saturday. The minister was reacting to media reports over his comments at an event in Maharashtra he addressed days after his party lost elections in three heartland states.
On Saturday, Gadkari was quoted as saying that nobody is willing to own up to failure, unlike success. His remarks came in the backdrop of BJP’s defeat in the recently concluded assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
