New Delhi: Hours after Aurangzeb, who was abducted and later killed by terrorists in Pulwama’s Gusoo, was laid to rest with full state honours, his brother demanded hundred killings for his sacrifice. “Hamare bhai ke badle hamein sau chahiye. Agar nahi de sakte to bata do, hum khud lenge (We want hundred killings for our brother’s sacrifice. If you can’t, tell us, we will take it ourselves),” Aurangzeb’s brother said.
The last rites of Aurangzeb were held in Poonch village, earlier in the day. Thousands of mourners raised slogans of ‘Shaheed Aurangzeb amar rahe’ at his last rites ceremony. His body was flown from 92 Base Hospital located at the 15 Corps at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar.
Speaking to reporters, Aurangzeb’s father Mohd Hanif requested the central and state governments to eliminate militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. “My son has abided by his pledge, he has kept his promise. He sacrificed himself for the nation and came back to me. I request the central and state govts to eliminate militancy,” Hanif stated.
Earlier on June 14, Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by militants. The soldier, belonging to 44 Rashtriya Rifles, had boarded a private vehicle to reach Shopian where from he was supposed to go to his home in Rajouri district for Eid celebrations. When their vehicle reached Kalampora, a few terrorists stopped the vehicle and kidnapped Aurangzeb. His body was found in Pulwama district on Thursday.
