New Delhi: Football is a beautiful game and this brilliant gesture by the Mexican and Colombian fan to help a handicapped Egyptian fan watch his country play by lifting him on his wheelchair is a proof. The handicapped fans couldn’t have watched the game on his own but a group of fans made his dream come true in Russia.
Mohamed Salah failed to make it to the starting XI as Egypt went down fighting against Uruguay in the opening clash of the FIFA World Cup 2018. The Pharaohs dearly missed their talismanic forward as a stern Uruguay backline led by the Diego Godin proved to be too much for the Egyptian forwards. However, the absence of Salah couldn’t deter the fans who flocked to the stadium in numbers to watch their country play at the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
The beautiful game of football is all about fans, it’s a sport that beats all barriers to get people together and celebrate. In a heartwarming gesture by a group of fans from Colombia and Mexico, a handicapped Egypt fan was lifted on his wheelchair to ensure he could watch his country play. Though Egypt failed to post a win, the fan surely enjoyed it watching from the fan zone with thousands of other football lovers.
An Egyptian fan, Omar shared the beautiful picture of the handicapped Paraoha fan watching his country play after being lifted on his wheelchair by a group of fans, on Twitter. “Some Colombian and Mexican fans lifting up an Egyptian fan in a wheelchair in the fan zone so he can watch his country play, It’s really more than just a game,” wrote Omar sharing the picture on Twitter.
