MUMBAI: In a shocking incident, at least 12 people were injured when they were attacked by a group of persons in a village in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur.
The 40-member congregation was attacked with swords, iron rods and bottles at the New Life Fellowship Church in Kolhapur’s Kowad, close to the Karnataka border.
They threw stones on those attending the prayer and tried to barge into the house. A probe is on. The Maharashtra Police is studying the modus operandi and examining the CCTV footage. Four teams have been formed to nab the attackerssaid the police. Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh said that there was a “possibility of the attack being carried out by right-wing activists”.
