TELANGANA: Taking jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, Telangana Chief Minister and TRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a “Hindu-Muslim disease, as poll-time rhetoric got shriller and nastier.
Rao’s remarks came in the wake of the central government blocking the Telangana state assembly’s resolution to provide 12 percent reservation to the Muslims in the state. KCR said he had written “30 letters to PM Modi but received no response. The prime minister is “obsessed with the debate on Hindus and Muslims”, said the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief.
Addressing another election meeting in Mahabubabad, the TRS president repeated his accusations and blamed the Centre for “religious madness”. “He doesn’t have the heart to treat everyone equally. The PM lacks compassion. We will form federal government and we will force the central government to bend before us and give us our rights,” the CM warned.
The TRS leader claimed both the BJP and the Congress wanted to exercise complete control over the states. AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisip backed TRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao in a tweet: “KCR is right about Modi’s Hindu-Muslim disease. There is only one cure for this disease – the constitution.”
