Rajasthan Assembly Elections: Congress Predicted to Trounce BJP, says Opinion poll

National Politics

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan, the largest state in India in terms of area, will go to polls on December 7, 2018. The poll conducted by ABP News-CVoter survey has predicted that the BJP might lose power in the upcoming elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The ABP opinion poll came out on Saturday, 6 October, when the election dates were also announced for all the three states by the EC. Both the parties are trying there best to outdo each other in reaching out to people ahead of the election, with seemingly mixed results so far.

The survey has, however, added that a minor swing in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh can turn the tide in the favour of either of the two main parties due to a very small difference between their projected vote shares.

The ABP opinion poll predicts a massive win for the Congress in the Rajasthan Assembly election, with the party getting 142 of the 200 seats, while the BJP is reduced to just 56 seats. The poll says that others and independents will not even win a single seat, but are predicted to receive 16 per cent.
