Palghar: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday made a big claim about the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Speaking at a rally in Palghar district of Maharashtra he said that the temple was demolished by Muslim based outside India and now it is people’s responsibility to rebuild it. He also warned that roots of India culture will be severed if it was not rebuilt.
“The temple in Ayodhya was demolished by the Muslim outside India. Indian nationals can’t do such a thing,” Bhagwat said. “It is our responsibility to restore what was demolished within the country. The temple should be built where it actually was. We are ready to fight for it,” he added.
The Ram mandir-Babri masjid matter is sub-judice before Supreme Court.
The Babri Masjid, built by Mughal emperor Babur in Ayodhya in 1528, was on December 6, 1992, demolished by Hindu Karsevaks, claiming that the Ram temple that originally stood there was demolished to construct the mosque.
Construction of Ram Mandir has always been among the key agendas of BJP and remains as the biggest poll-promise for the party since three decades.
