South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in the first ODI

NEW DELHI: South Africa stand-in captain Jean-Paul Duminy recorded his first win against Zimbabwe  with a 5 wicket win over Zimbabwe in the first ODI played at Diamond Oval, Kimberley. South African captain JP Duminy won the toss and decided to field first. Zimbabwe mustered just 117 after being put into bat in their first ODI.

South Africa slumped to 58-4 after 14.3 overs of their chase. Heinrich Klassen played with positive intent scoring 44 off 44 balls before being dismissed by Wellington Masakadza. JP Duminy and Mulder ensured that South Africa held their nerves to shoot off the remaining target.

South Africa survived a few scares before eventually winning the match with 24 overs to spare as they recorded a 36th win in 38 completed ODIs against their opponents.
