Youth dies after mob attack, for allegedly stealing buffaloes in, UP

LUCKNOW: A 22-year-old man who was home from Dubai was beaten to death in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly stealing a buffalo, the police said. The incident was reported from Bareilly district late on Tuesday night.

Shahrukh Khan, who was accompanied by two others, had gone to Bholapur village in the cantonment area where they were beaten by a group of men, said Bareilly’s senior superintendent of police Muniraj, adding his family members have lodged a complaint against two men who took Shahrukh to the village.

Mr Khan’s post-mortem report, however, revealed that he died of internal injuries to his liver and kidneys.

Bareilly Superintendent of Police (city) Abhinandan Singh said, “Shahrukh Khan and his three aides, Majid, Pappu and one unidentified person, were in the process of stealing a buffalo from the house of a local farmer named Gajendra Pal around 3 am on Wednesday. However, the farmer spotted them and raised an alarm.

 An FIR has been lodged against 30 unidentified villagers. Police have also registered a case against Khan’s accomplices.
